The focus of postpartum support from a doula is to create a warm, nurturing environment that allows the family to rest and bond after the arrival of a new baby. A postpartum doula provides physical, emotional, and practical support to the mother, helping her rest and recover from childbirth. I can offer support that helps parents' recharge and ease the early days postpartum that can often feel overwhelming.
I offer evidence-based information on newborn care, soothing techniques, and establishing healthy infant feeding habits. My doula care also includes specialized lactation support. Additionally, I am happy to offer resources for any needs the family may have, including referrals to perinatal specialists, community resources, or support groups.
Since every family has unique needs, I offer flexible support tailored to your specific situation. Support can be provided for a few days, weeks, or even months, depending on the family's needs.
In each session, I will meet with the family to check in, assess how things are going, answer any questions, and create a plan based on your priorities for the day. Every session is tailored to your needs, focusing on what matters to you the most at that moment. I aim to ensure your needs and concerns are heard! Some sessions may start with discussions around infant care, your feelings about your birth experience, breastfeeding management, or any other worries you might have. Later, I may assist with tasks like baby laundry, preparing healthy snacks, addressing breastfeeding challenges, or spending time with older children while you enjoy some quiet moments with your baby. Self-care is essential for new moms, and I’ll make sure you have time to focus on yourself each day. During overnight sessions, my priority is to care for both you and your baby, adjusting my services to fit your needs and schedule. My goal is to leave you feeling rested, supported, and able to breathe a little easier.
As a certified lactation counselor, I specialize in breastfeeding counseling and management, providing support as needed to ensure a smooth feeding experience. During overnight care, I assist with breastfeeding by bringing the baby to you, then diapering and soothing the baby, allowing you to get as much rest as possible. If the baby is bottle-fed, I handle feedings throughout the night. Once the baby is back to sleep, I can wash bottles or pump parts, as needed.
I can assist parents with diaper changes and other newborn care needs. I can help ease any anxieties new parents may have about caring for their infant, offering guidance and support to build confidence in their parenting journey. During overnight care, I will change the baby’s diaper before feeding and check again afterward to ensure the baby is comfortably settled back to sleep.
I understand how crucial sleep is with a new baby in the home, and proper rest can help reduce postpartum anxiety and depression. I can offer suggestions to help maximize sleep for both new parents and infants. Using gentle methods, I aim to soothe a tired or fussy baby, ensuring everyone gets the rest they need. I provide care to the infant during the day while parents nap, or offer overnight support, allowing parents to rest and recharge. Even occasional overnight care can make a significant difference in helping you be a happier, healthier parent.
I can assist with simple household tasks such as folding baby laundry, washing bottles, or preparing light meals and snacks. My goal is to focus on the tasks that are most important to mom, helping to reduce any anxiety. During overnight care, my priority is taking care of both mom and baby, so some household chores may not be completed on those nights.
I offer support to all members of the household, including helping older children adjust to a new sibling. I can provide suggestions to ease this transition and spend time doing crafts or games with siblings, giving mom uninterrupted time with the baby when needed. Additionally, I have experience with children with special needs and can offer support tailored to each family’s unique needs.
New parents or partners sometimes feel nervous and struggle with anxiety about how to care for or bond with their baby. I can offer suggestions and guidance to help foster bonding between partners and support them in building a strong connection with their baby.
I understand that many families live with extended relatives, and that each family dynamic is unique. I will respect the roles of all family members and honor the household’s customs and traditions.
I offer support outside of the home by accompanying the mother on outings with the baby, such as walks, grocery shopping, or practicing breastfeeding in public for the first time. Venturing out with a new baby can sometimes feel stressful, and I’m here to help you overcome that anxiety and make the experience more comfortable.

As a certified lactation counselor and trained infant feeding specialist, I offer breastfeeding counseling and management to support you in your breastfeeding and lactation journey. My goal is to provide evidence-based education that promotes healthy infant feeding patterns and practices, ensuring both you and your baby thrive. I provide personalized lactation sessions through in-home visits or video consultations to best meet your needs. Lactation support is also included with all postpartum doula care!
I can provide education on a number of topics related to breastfeeding and infant feeding patterns and practices, such as how often your baby should eat, signs your baby is getting hungry (crying is a late hunger sign!), and any other infant feeding questions you have. I can offer education on breastmilk storage guidelines, safety with formula preparation, and recommendations for bottle/pump cleaning and sterilization.
I can guide you on how to position your baby during nursing, ensuring a good latch and that your baby is getting enough milk. I provide education on establishing a healthy milk supply and help troubleshoot issues like nipple or breast pain, or low milk supply. I also offer support for babies with slow weight gain and can connect parents with any necessary resources. My goal is to empower parents with the confidence and skills to care for and feed their infants successfully.
There are many ways a partner can support a mother during breastfeeding. I can offer strategies for partners to assist mom during feedings, ensuring she feels supported. Studies show that mothers who have supportive partners are more likely to breastfeed for longer periods. Partners may also feel unsure about how to bond with the baby when mom is exclusively breastfeeding. I can provide suggestions and guidance to help foster bonding between partners and strengthen their connection with the baby in ways beyond feedings.
Breastfeeding is a journey, and support may be needed as you move forward. I can offer advice and strategies on various aspects of lactation, including introducing a bottle, returning to work, exclusive pumping, managing oversupply, and navigating the weaning process.
